Assessing Data Literacy: A Human-Centered Model

Lindsay Hummel

In this session, we’ll explore the process of creating a human-centered model for data literacy assessments. We’ll examine how data literacy can inform strategic decision-making and why it’s so important for organizations to invest in creating data literate teams. We’ll consider the impact of technological change on our users and how we can foster safety in our teams to support them throughout the change process. We’ll dive deep into the results of a real data literacy assessment and explore the takeaways and benefits of asking our teams, “How does working with data make you feel?” Attendees will leave this session with renewed curiosity and insights about how they can leverage data assessments to drive strategic, equitable change within their teams for good.
